## Identity protection

Hide member names on the public site while your team still sees who submitted or commented. Guests already appear as anonymous.

## How it works

| Setting | Public view | Internal view |

## Enable identity masking

1. Go to **Settings → Board Settings**
2. Turn on **Hide public member names**

Changes apply immediately on the public portal and widget.

## Anonymous vs masked

These settings do different jobs:

| **Who is known** | Unknown to everyone | Known to your team, hidden publicly |
| **How people post** | No account required | Signed-in members |
| **Follow-up** | Not tied to an account | Available internally |
| **Best for** | Low-friction public collection | Privacy on public boards |

You can use both: allow anonymous submissions, and hide member names for people who do sign in.
